USEFUL INFORMATION & FAQS

DIGITAL EVENT BOOKLET

Our digital event booklet is now available to view and download.

Tickets and booking

How do I buy a ticket?
You can purchase your entry at our event booking website here.

Do I have to attend the whole event?
No! We have 3 different ticket types available. Whilst we encourage you to take the opportunity to attend classes with our brilliant teachers, you can also buy tickets to attend just the tea dance, or just the evening freestyle.

Can I turn up on the day?
This is a ticket only event, and there will be no opportunity to turn-up and purchase your space on the day.

To avoid dissapointment, please do not attend if you don't have a pre-booked ticket.

What role should I purchase a ticket for?
Tickets are purchased by role (leader of follower) rather than gender, to recognise non-traditional dance roles.

You should purchase a ticket for the role in which you predominantly do and therfore the role you would likely take part in a classes as. During freestyle, you are welcome to take up whichever role you choose for each dance you have!

For example, if a person is predominantly a follow during classes and freestyle and is likely to follow during a class, they should book a follow ticket, even if they are able to lead and may occasionally lead during freestyle.

I want to come but my ticket type is sold out!
Unfortunately, the venue requires us to be strict on capacity. This means that if your ticket type is sold out, we are unable to make any exceptions. Please take a look on our Facebook event page for private ticket sales, and get in touch to let us know - we can add you to a waiting list.

Why are leads/follows on hold?
If a certain ticket type is showing as on hold, this means we've had to limit certain roles to allow us to maintain a healthy role balance. These events only work when there are enough people of each role to dance with! Check back later, as these tickets do become available again once a balance is met.

I've bought a ticket but can no longer attend, what are my options?
Tickets to The Pier are non-refundable, but can be transferred at no extra cost. Please arrange your own private sale (you can also post on our Facebook event page), and let us know the transfer details. Please note that we require confirmation of successful sale from both parties before information can be transferred.

Can I change my ticket type?
Yes! Please get in contact and we can change your booking online at difference cost (subject to availability).

Classes and masterclasses

What classes are there?
We have a full schedule available on this website here or in our event booklet which can be downloaded here.

Printed copies will be up around the event space as well as scannable QR codes.

Do I need to book classes in advance?
Classes in the Regency Suite will be held every hour on the hour, by a range of teachers, from 10am-4pm. These are included in your All Day Package pass and you are welcome to attend as many or as little as you like.

Masterclasses in the Coral Room, every hour, on the hour, from 11pm-7pm. These classes come at an additional cost and must be pre-booked in advance.

Do I need a partner to attend the classes?
Classes in the Regency Suite are are normal rotational classes (like you would expect at a class night)

Masterclasses held in the Coral Room, are fixed partner classes and must be booked with a partner.

I don't have a regular partner to book a masterclass. How can I find one?
Speak to other dancers at events, or get in touch - we might know of another dancer looking for a partner! You can also find a dedicated partner finding post on our Facebook event page for The Pier 2026.

The masterclass I want to do is sold out
Masterclasses have very limited spaces and therfore can sell out quickly. We have waiting lists in place for each masterclass, so please get in contact and let us know if you'd like to be added to the list.

The event is held on the top floor of the building, accessed via stairs. However, there is a lift available within the event space, and also within the Grand Pier's amusement hall.

How do I check-in on the day?

Will there be refreshments on offer?
Hot drinks and cake will be provided in the North Tower during the afternoon tea dance. The bar will be available in the Regency Suite during the evening freestyle.

Disposable cups will be limited to help us reduce non-recyclable waste, so please bring drinks bottles and hot drinks cups with you where possible.

Can I leave the Grand Pier to eat elsewhere?
Yes, and there are many shops, cafes and restaurants locally in the town. When you arrive back at The Pier, inform the barrier guard that you are attending the Ceroc event, as you did on arrival.

Filming and photos

Can I film the classes?
Please refrain from filming teachers during the class. Teachers will give you an opportunity to film the full routine and/or break down at the end of the class.

Can I take photos and videos during the event?
You are welcome to take photos and videos - plus we love when you share them on social media. However, if you are filming a specific person dancing, please be sure to check with them first.

Will there be a photographer/videographer?
There is no official photography or videoography taking place at this event. However, event organisers will be taking videos and photos throughout the day for promotional material. Let a crew member know if you would prefer not to be included.

Health and safety

Is there air conditioning?
The Regency Suite is air conditioned and there will also be fans for air  circulation. The room also had large doors opening onto the balcony to allow for fresh air and circulation.

The Coral Room (masterclasses) does not have air conditioning, but there will be a number of fans in the room, as well as large doors opening out on the balcony, which allow for fresh air and circulation.

Personal etiquette
Although we do everything we can to keep dance spaces cool, dancing can still make us a little hot, especially in warmer weather. Please remember to stay fresh, wear deodorant, change your clothes as necessary and wash your hands frequently. Hand sanitiser will be available in various locations around the venue.

Dance etiquette
Please be considerate of your partner and fellow dancers and remember airsteps are not permitted on our freestyle floor for safety reasons. Take care when doing any form of drop, keeping safety and spatial awareness at the forefront on your mind.

Can I have food or drink in the dance space?
Yes, you are welcome to bring food and drink into the dance space, but please help us to keep the dance space tidy by using the bins provided. Do not walk across the dance floor with drinks, and please help us by reporting any spillages or hazards should you notice them.

Help on the day

Who do I speak to if I need help?
Please speak to our crew members if you have a question or need a little direction - they’re happy to help! Crew members will be checking you in at the check-in desk, helping to row organise in the Regency Suite, and checking you in to your masterclass at the entrance to the Coral Room.
